AI Text Summarizer is committed to protecting your privacy. This extension is designed to keep data processing local and communicates directly with your chosen AI provider, bypassing our servers.

The extension processes text you highlight and page content you explicitly ask to analyze. This processing happens locally in your browser:

• –Selected Text & Page Content: Sent to AI providers only when you trigger a summarization action.
• –API Keys: Encrypted and stored in chrome.storage.sync on your device. Never transmitted to our servers.
• –Preferences: Including model choices, language, and custom prompts, stored locally and synced with your Chrome settings.

During summarization, content will be sent to OpenAI or Google Chrome AI / Gemini. See relevant terms below:

• –Encrypted Transit: All API communications use HTTPS.
• –No Logging: We do not store or log the content of your requests. Local settings stay until deleted or uninstalled.
• –Local Operations: Interface rendering and settings management are performed entirely in your browser.

You can access your local data, delete your API keys and settings anytime, or uninstall the extension to remove all associated local data.
